ROBERT T. MEHUS

ROBERT T. MEHUS 52, Finley, ND died September 9, 2012 in the Sanford Medical Center in Mayville, ND. Robert Todd Mehus was born August 11, 1960 in Mayville, ND the son of Raymo and Merle (Holmen) Mehus. He grew up and attended school in Finley and graduated from Finley-Sharon High School in 1978. Bob attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND and graduated with a degree in Insurance and Real Estate in 1980. He returned to Finley in 1983 and took over the family farm. Farming was his passion in life. In May of 1988 he met Lori Knutson while playing softball at Red Willow. The couple married November 12, 1988 in Hillsboro, ND. They made their home in Hillsboro until August of 1989 when they moved to Finley. Bob worked at American Crystal Sugar in Hillsboro for several years. He continued farming and was also a substitute rural mail carrier for the Aneta Post Office. Bob loved his family and was so proud of his children. He enjoyed playing golf with Ryan, Kyle, Jimmy and Taylor, shopping with Jana, holding and talking to Beth and taking his mother to the casino. He loved watching sports especially when his children were playing. For Bob and his boys there was nothing better than the Duke and North Carolina rivalry. He is survived by his wife, Lori, Finley, ND; two sons, Ryan, Valley City, Kyle, Finley, ND; two daughters, Jana and Beth both at home; his mother, Merle Mehus, Hatton, ND; two brothers, twin Randall (Christy), West Fargo, ND, Ron (Mary), Waconia, MN; five sisters, Marjory (Kent) Hochgraber, Reilies Acres, ND, Maxine Mehus, Finley, ND, Myrna Mehus, Hartford, CT, Marsha Hopkins, Las Vegas, NV, Ramona (Robert) Asmus, Hudson, WI and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Raymo. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Finley Lutheran Church in Finley, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday September 12, 2012 from 5:00 till 7:00 pm in the Church and one hour before the funeral in the Church. A Prayer Service will be Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the Church. Interment will be in the Finley Cemetery, Finley, ND.
