Agnes Haugtvedt Agnes Christine Jacobson was born on April 17th, 1924 to Jacob and Elise Thompson Jacobson in rural Finley, North Dakota. She passed away on Friday, June 29th, at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City, North Dakota. She was 88 years old. Agnes married Roy Palmer Haugtvedt on June 1st, 1957. A lifelong resident of the Finley area, Agnes was active in the Ostervold Lutheran Church and along with her husband, served as a caretaker of the Ostervold Cemetery for over 30 years. She greatly enjoyed spending time with family and taking care of her home and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing the piano “by ear,” singing, and taking care of her flowers. Agnes is survived by sons Curtis (Candace) Haugtvedt of Westerville, Ohio, Rodney (Terri) Haugtvedt, Oriska, North Dakota, and daughter, Audrey (Wendell) Gangelhoff of Finley, North Dakota, seven granddaughters, Erica (Evan Thomas) Haugtvedt and Andrea Haugtvedt, Jody (Jesse) Miller, Susan Ostenson, and Connie Ostenson, Kristina and Tara Haugtvedt, brothers Orville (Shirley), Willard (Donna), Norris, and Edwin (Marlys) Jacobson and sisters Irene (Bob) Nygord and Edna Hansegard, sisters-in-law Elaine Jacobson, Arlene Jacobson, Jean Haugtvedt, Eleanor Teigen, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and brother-in-law Nelvin (Dorthy) Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy, sisters Adeline Jacobson and Esther Deltener, brothers, Elmer, Marvin, and Robert Jacobson, brothers-in-law; Gus Deltener, Melvin Hansegard, Orvis, Elwood, and Gordon Haugtvedt, Kermit Teigen and sister-in-law, Helen Anne King. Visitation will be Monday, July 2nd, 5 to 7 pm at Ostervold Lutheran Church rural Finley, with a prayer service at 7 pm. Funeral and burial will be on Tuesday, July 3rd at 10:30 am at Ostervold Lutheran Church.
