MYRON WATNE

MYRON (MIKE) WATNE Myron Arthur Watne, 70, of Hannaford, died Friday March 16, 2012 in the Cooperstown Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Myron was born March 5, 1942, to Roy and Judith (Taxdahl) Watne in rural Hannaford. He graduated from Hannaford, High School in 1960. In 1962 he and two of his buddies Lee John Watne and Jerry Flach enlisted in the US Navy. After 4 years in the Navy, Mike spent time working in Minneapolis then in Helena, Montana. After his father Roy died in 1975 Mike returned to farm the home place west of Hannaford. In the following years he did trucking and some farm labor for a neighbor. Mike spent a number of winters with brother Jim and Marcy in Helena. Mike was diagnosed with MS in the mid 70’s. In 2009 he moved to Hannaford. Mike is survived by sister Ferne Gibbons, Great Falls, Montana, brothers Dennis Watne Apple Valley, Minnesota, James Watne Helena, Montana, sister, Marcia Weinhauer, Abbotsford, BC, Canada and 12 nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the Hannaford community for all their help and friendship with Mike over the years. Also a special thank you to Debbie Mickelson and the Cooperstown Medical Clinic for the wonderful care they provided. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Saron Cemetery, rural Cooperstown, ND
