HELEN RIX-MYER Helen Rix-Myer, Binford, ND died on February 25, 2011, at the Cooperstown Medical Center Nursing Home. Helen was born in 1915 in Iowa to the Rix family. When she met and married Howard Myer June 2, 1948 in Lytton IA. They moved to a Myer farm in Binford North Dakota and farmed until 1971. Howard and Helen had 3 children while living on the farm, Harold Howard "Hod" Myer, Darlene Myer and Donna Mae Myer-Schumacker. Hod had 6 children and Donna had 3. After some time they moved into the town in Binford where she loved to have a beautiful full garden and flower around the house. She was very gifted with her "green thumb". Her other hobbies were sewing, crocheting by the front window in the rocking chair, and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed showing them how to make Lefsa and how to can jam and Jelly from fruit out of the garden. She also enjoyed playing Pinnacle at the kitchen table with her family and friends. Helen is proceeded in death by her husband Howard and all 3 of her children Donna in Douglas Wyoming, Harold in Binford ND and Darlene in Jamestown ND. Helen had lived a very full life until 96 years of age. She had made many blankets and afghans for her kids and grandchildren. She will always be remembered as getting up early in the morning to garden till late at night. Services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Binford North Dakota at 11:00 on March 03, 2011. She will be buried in the Spring of the year with her daughter Darlene. She will be laid to rest next to her husband.
